Four Songs by The Handcuffs to be Featured in "Wendy Liebman: Taller on TV" Comedy Special Premieres November 5 on Showtime
They say the camera adds ten pounds, but The Handcuffs won't have to worry about that; four of their songs will be adding some sexy rock energy to comedian Wendy Liebman's Showtime special "Wendy Liebman: Taller on TV". On November 5th, you can not only see Liebman's patented clever follow-ups, but also hear "All Shine On" and "Jet Baby" from Model for a Revolution, "One More Song" from Electroluv and "Dirty Glitter" from their latest album, Waiting for the Robot.
The Handcuffs songs have been featured in dozens of television shows and films including Gossip Girl, The Margaret Cho Show, The Hills, Roadtrip Nation, Jersey Shore, Laguna Beach, Celebrity Rehab, Rollergirls, Free Radio and the Sundance and SXSW award winning documentary The Education of Shelby Knox, to name just a few.
The Handcuffs sound has been variously described, from "T-Rex and the Ting Tings straddling Goldfrapp" to "Queens of the Stone Age and Blondie on a road trip with Franz Ferdinand," but either way, you get fresh yet timeless, edgy yet accessible, skillfully crafted yet easily memorable songs that you can't help but dance to. Their influences range from Bowie to Bacharach, P.J. Harvey to the Pixies, White Album to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs with some Ting Tings, T-Rex and Sparks tossed in for good measure. You could spend all day trying to name that tune, but by nighttime it would still be The Handcuffs.
