Young Readers Take Over Daytrotter Studio

Young Readers’ Jordan Herrera recently took his signature dreamy indie folk music to the Daytrotter Studio in Rock Island, Illinois. Performing songs from his latest 2012 EP, Family Trees, and his single/B-side released last May, the Daytrotter session shows his ability to tug at listeners' heartstrings with his emotional vocal performance.

Young Readers released the single/B-Side, Homesick//Hymnal, via Lorem Ipsum Recordings in Portland, Maine. Swelling horns, Jordan Herrera’s heartsick vocals and the deliberate pace set by acoustic guitar and drums all bring the story to life. There is almost always a dreamy or imaginary quality to Young Readers indie folk songs; a sense that reality is suspended, even if for a few minutes.
