Bonsai Launches First EP from the Dream Pop Music Genre
"Simone Stevens can sing. The unheralded Brooklyn belter (by way of Hawaii and L.A.) has a confident voice, employed without bluster…” -Jack Rabid-The Big Takeover Magazine
Bonsai has created a self-titled EP set for release on May 27, 2014. It is this balance of neatly crafted music, atmosphere, and subtle changes in tempo and lyrical content that make this album a truly fine piece of art.
Bonsai’s self-titled EP and songs stem from a distinct tree. Over the course of a decade Simone Stevens’ craft has been shaped, pruned and closely cultivated into what has become the expansive dream-pop project, Bonsai. This EP is Bonsai’s first project. The self titled EP is comprised of five tracks. It exists stylistically in a multitude of genres: floating basslines and winding lap steel melodies circle around plucked, angelic chord voicings.
