Setting Your 2016 Goals
As 2015 comes to a close it’s time to start thinking about what you want to achieve in 2016. It’s one thing to talk about what you want to achieve, it’s another actually making it happen.
Here are a few steps to get you started:
Evaluate Your 2015 Goals and Make a List
Take time to evaluate the goals you set in 2015. Make a list of all the goals you achieved and those you didn’t. What did you do to achieve the ones you did and why didn’t you achieve the others? If you didn’t achieve a goal determine if it’s really what you wanted or if you stopped yourself because of fear. If it’s not what you want simply cut it from the list.
Determine next steps
Now take all the goals you achieved and determine if you’d like to take it to the next level. If so, determine what that is and add it to the list for 2016.
Identify Your Fears
To really achieve your goals you need to acknowledge what’s scaring you. Maybe it’s overwhelm, a fear of success, or a fear of failure. Determine why that scares you and then think about the next step to overcome it (or the next step that doesn’t scare you).
Make Your Final List
Now look at your list and be honest about the ones you really want to put your energy into. Add those to your 2016 list and then start tackling the first one you’re most excited to achieve.
It’s easy to become overwhelmed when setting big goals, but just keep working on it step by step.
